In the interest of getting more discussion going on theForge, I'm
revisiting NJBA's Lightweight Forge Project. I believe I've mentioned this
from time to time over the past years, but for those who have been out of
the loop, the idea was to make equipment for remote demonstrations that is
lightweight and portable. We were quite successful at this and have been
using the equipment for a couple years now.)
The "big" news is that my abridged report on the project may appear in an
upcoming Hammers Blow. Dan Nauman said he didn't know if it would fit in
the spring issue, but possibly the summer issue.
Recently, we've been renovating 20' of a 40' container for storage of this
equipment. I hope we're going to be able to make use of this space soon,
because the equipment is currently crammed into a 4'x6' trailer, making it
exceedingly difficult to load and unload, and much related equipment is
dispersed elsewhere. I'm going to be working on this container later today.
If anyone wants more information, contact me and I'll provide links, etc.,
to more explanatory material. I thought of making plans available, but
really don't want to deal with printing and distribution again. I offered
them to ABANA, but they nibbled and didn't bite.
