I have mostly DeWalt power tools, and learned a couple years ago,
that DeWalt is owned by Black & Decker, as are Stanley and many of the
other brands.

I used to only buy Petersen Vice Grips, as the off breed knock offs let
me down, releasing when I didn't want them to, and not releasing when I
needed to them release. Petersen Vice Grips were owned and
manufactured by a Nebraksa company , that got bought up by Irwin
Tools.... and I can't remember who now owns them, but all of the
Nebraska Vicegrip production moved to China.

So with the back door tooling of Vice Grips, walking out the back door
of one Chinese company into the door of another Chinese company, we can
now buy pretty much a quality "Vice Grip" generic knock offs directly
from China on ebay.

Reading Saint Philip's link, I learned that 4 mega companies
basically have 50% of the world tools. Protect the giant Corps with
lower taxes.
