A couple thoughts:
Had you considered fabricating a replacement?  Some guy posted photos of
one he fab'd from aluminum. for the SA-200.
If you're going to get a lot of use from this welder, fixing the tank makes
good sense.  But a gas tank is a gas tank.  You can get a used portable gas
tank for a boat, dirt cheap, and a new one for an affordable amount:
