Hah!  This isn't typical weather here.  I lived in rural western Mass.
for a few years.  There was always a spell in January when it was -20F
nights and warmed up to 0F days.  And I'll never forget driving back
from central Vermont after a blacksmithing workshop in a dinky little
pickup at 25 below.  Shivver.  More than a degree or two below 0F is
unusual here.  It's up to above freezing (barely) today.

When all  that iron -- tools, machinery, truck -- get down to 0F, it
takes quite awhile to warm that huge heat sink up even with a stove.
I really should get a propane contract and put a propane furnace in the
shop.  It would fix up Peggy's upstairs weaving studio, too.  Real
Soon Now. :-)
