lost his home and >old shop< to fire recently.  See this article:

If you look closely at the newspaper photo, you can see that his >new shop<
is still standing, very fortunately, and I've confirmed that in a
conversation with him.  He says the Red Cross helped out with clothing and
such, and that for  now he's staying with his girlfriend.

The GoFundMe has already reached nearly twice its goal of $10k -- meant to
offset his immediate expenses -- and he thinks his insurance may be
sufficient to rebuild a house.  In the meantime, he says he will be at the
NBA's meet at the Ashokan Center tomorrow evening, and Saturday at lunch
and after.  If you're attending that, the raffle (Saturday) will benefit
Jonathan's rebuilding fund.
