Exactly, there is a Big difference in excreta across species lines. A human can pick through horse and cow dung for edible food and many grass land seeds need to be run through an herbivore's digestive track to have a good chance of successfully sprouting. Same for some seeds and birds. Feed seeds through an omnivore and they're almost all toast.
Meat and fat is much harder to digest so the system is much more aggressive, little of food value is wasted. Carnivore dung is much drier as well so it's much "Hotter" if you picture it as a fertilizer. Dog urine burns dead spots in lawns and cats can wipe out flower beds with a few visits.
If you want your urine to approach the potency of a cat's go on a high fat meat diet and stay borderline dehydrated. When your urine is running near orange it's pretty potent.
Of course you could let it ferment like dyers before ammonia was commonly available to set dyes.
Funny what developing diabetes can set a person to reading about isn't it?

Our domestic house cats are descended from desert mammals. They evolved originally to waste very little water, so their urine is very concentrated. In general trust your nose, if it smells different, it is different. Charles

Okay, I just have to ask.
Other than odor, I would think cat urine, horse urine, dog urine and people urine would be pretty much similar allowing for difference in diet.
Anyone have some hard chemistry to contribute? Or is this just alchemy?
