Hello MM,
   I don't have anything to add to my learned co-forgers here on the making of an inexpensive forge. However! I do feel the point of galvanized metal fumes was under-emphasized.  Galvanized fumes can and will KILL YOU. 
  Just wanted to make that point. I welded a lot of galvanized and alloy steels and always did so outside with either a nice breeze or a fan blowing the smoke away from my face. Both of my shops, work and home had an outside and inside area with the forges outside. 
   Metal Fume fever is not to be taken lightly. 

Just wanted to make sure that point wasn't missed by this new comer.
