Petrogen has been in business for a long time, oxy fuel demolition torches
are common. They cost more out of the box but more than make up for it in
consumables or I wouldn't have an oxy propane torch. I don't know about the
Petrogen oxy gasoline torch for brazing or soldering but it's a no go for
welding. My All States oxy propane torch does everything but weld much
better and more economical than acet.
When I bought my set it cost more than 2x what a high end pro. oxy acet rig
cost but it paid for itself more than 2x over before I had to refill my
20lb. propane tank the first time.
If you're doing basic shop torch work you don't want the Petrogen gasoline
rig but a propane rig will treat you well so long as you do NOT expect to
gas weld with it.
It doesn't make any difference what tools you buy Terry getting performance
out of them is on you. Tools don't do anything without the clever monkey
with thumbs making them.

Subject: [TheForge] oxygen-gasoline/diesel/kerosine
hello
i happened to stumble across the web site for http://www.petrogen.com which
manufactures a cutting torch which uses liquid fuel. This reminds me of the
coleman camp lights. kerosine or gasoline or coleman fuel in the bottom and
you pumped up the pressure. the liquid went into a vaporizer which allowed
the gas to flow to the mantels.
these units are expensive. other than the oxygen cylinder and regulator
everything else would be replaced with the new liquid fuel equipment.
how much cutting would a person have to be doing to be able to recover the
cost of the new equipment over using oxygen-acetylene, oxygen-propane,
oxygen-propylene, oxygen-propane-propylene-mix.
Would not the excess hydrogen in the flame cause welds to be brittle?
Gas welding i normally go with oxygen-acetylene.
for large jobs demolition jobs use broco exothermic rods.
thermal lance.
