Gene requested I tell a tale so I posted this to the FB group and forgot to
post it here too. Blame it on Gene he made me do it. <wink>

Happy tale follows, Frosty

I miss you guys too Gene but I don't handle the chaotic nature of FB very
well, it's a TBI thing. I understand why nobody uses the email list anymore
it's too dated. Sad but times change and I don't so well anymore.

A tale? Well, yesterday I was taking a load of brush to the transfer
station. Been brushing around the house to keep a fire break. Anyway, I'm
rolling up Hollywood road with all it's blind curves and see a pair of tail
lights around one. I slow down figuring it's another accident on that turn
and see a car stopped in the lane and a woman walking towards me waving her
arms. I figure she's yelling seeing as her mouth is wide open and working. I
stop and hit my flashers while I still have good sight distance behind me
and get out to see what's happening.

I don't get past the front tire of the truck and I see something "bounding?"
across the lane and I have to wonder why the lady stopped for a rabbit. Then
the critter turns at the center line and heads towards me and I realize it's
a scraggly little dog and the lady is scaring it. Waving your arms and
yelling isn't the way to get a dog to come to you. I step away from the
truck, made a couple smoochy sounds and tell the little guy what a good dog
it is and it runs right up and jumps in the truck.

I step away and yell at the lady asking if it's her dog. She says no and I
tell her it has a collar and tags I'll get it home, she needs to get going
that isn't a safe place to park and she pulls out. The truck towel was in
the wash so I couldn't give the poor dog a little toweling but it curled up
in the dog blanket so okay. I pulled up the road to a side road and called
the number on the tags. I still don't know if "Gentry" is the dog's or
owner's name but he responded to it so that's what I called him. Nobody
answered so I left a message and headed to the dump.

When Donna called it turned out she was out looking for her dog who just
happens to love to swim, hence the wet, dirty and kind of swamp stinky
little terrier(maybe?) dog. We agree on where to meet up and I unload the
brush. Gentry has finally settled down and stopped shivering. Dogs like me.
We meet up and Gentry's tail wags for the first time when his person gets
out of the car. It really made my day and made a happy thought I can
remember when I'm feeling down.

Is that tale enough or would someone like to offer a straight line to start
a pun thread or something?
