Been away from an ISP that would link to my ISP and could read but not reply
to email. Deb and I spent about 10 days in S. Cal. she had a last K9 nose
work set of classes and testing to earn her certification as instructor and
by happy coincidence they were being held less than 15 mins. from her
sisters so we didn't have to rent a car, hotel room or even buy a soda while
down.
Okay, that's the short version reason for why I didn't just JUMP on Mike's
straight line. On to my response.
I believe the fellow who made you sign had an ethical duty to "truth in
advertising."
I've been telling folk for years it's no accident blacksmithing and Bull
Shooting are abbreviated the same way. Nobody's argued in the decades I've
been doing so.
Good to see some traffic on the forge. I really wish one of my emails about
visiting the San Fernando Valley had come through. Maybe next time.

Once upon a time, I was on to do a 3 day public demo in front of the arts
centre at Dalhousie University. Mobile shop, transportation, helper etc.
all ready to go. Then I realized I didn't have a sign of any kind. So I
prevailed upon a commercial artist I knew who grumpily and reluctantly
turned out a nice little sign with my name and the word "Blacksmith".
Only after it was in place and I was taking a break on the nearby stone
wall, did I realize that, with his choice of colors and typeface, from a
distance it appeared to read:
.,.,.,.,.,.,.
B.....S....
