Hi Guys,
     I remember in my Father's shop they had a tool we called a thread follower. it had one fixed blade and one loose or adjustable ( I forget now) blade and it could be used for almost any size bolt. I don't remember if there was an inside one or not. Just mentioning it in case it jogs anyone else's memory about that tool or a similar one. This was in the 70's.
