[TheForge] How to carry coal, stock, and tools? (Related to Lightweight Forges)

Okay, so the one significant problem I encountered going to the Fair,
recently, was how best to carry coal, steel stock, and tools.
COAL: The coal was in bags -- some in woven plastic grain bags (no good!
-- they leak powder and break down in sunlight), some in "contractor bags"
(too big), and some in contractor bags inside gunny sacks (awkward, but the
best of the three). Where possible, I put the sacks inside the 10-gal
slack tubs, and that worked well until the slack tubs were needed.
My best idea is to use canvas sacks -- maybe one square yard of fabric
folded and seamed on two sides, perhaps with a drawstring closure. Problem
is, if I don't make those myself (possible, but one more chore), I don't
know where to get them. By "canvas" I mean cotton duck -- really heavy
stuff.
An alternative would be metal or stout plastic containers, but I need to
pack everything into a small stowage space, and rigid containers are more
difficult to stow.
Any better ideas?
STEEL STOCK: I threw the stock onto the bed of my truck, which was simple
and easy, but became difficult when it came time to unload it (as my truck
has a corrugated bed liner) and, later, reload it (from the ground where
we'd stowed it).
My best idea: Wrap it in one or more canvas cloths, with ties (fold up
ends, fold up sides, & tie). Again, not likely to be commercially
available, but wouldn't be too hard to make.
In the past we used a 6" ID PVC pipe, capped on both ends. Someone lifted
it up by one end and the stock crashed through the lower cap, ending its
life! Rigid, again is bad for stowage reasons.
Any better ideas?
TOOLS: A similar problem to steel stock, but in this case it would be good
to be able to organize the tools and to keep them organized at the demo
site. Hence, I'm thinking of a canvas tool roll. You've all seen such
things, though these days they're mostly plastic. Even HF sells files and
wrenches in such things. I'd want heavy canvas, but I doubt they're
commercially available. Same problem.
BTW, I'm thinking such tool rolls could be made to stand up using struts,
or hang from a simple, folding steel frame.
Any better ideas?
Thanks in advance.
