The one my Grandpa had he called a spoon drill . I know they are made in different sizes . I had not thought of making one, but, I think it would be fun to build and use. Thanks for the idea.

hello
for those who remember
the swedish videos that were posted about many
years ago, one of the videos
showed the making of wooden shoes. the man
used a tool which basically looked
like a shallow scoop that he used to
literally scoop out the wood. t-handled
tool. probably to give leverage
to cut the wood and scoop it out.
this would
be a great tool to use to make bird house/nest hollows in a
log. make a hole
just large enough for the scoop to pass through and
then scoop out the wood to
make a hollow area about the size of a large
softball.
