The thing I don't like about poison bait vermin control is poisoning your
pets if they eat the carcasses. Still, they have to go so you do what you
must. The gage kernals is how I do it too though not with corn. The mice
around here LOVE cat food and the barn cats won't eat it if it isn't in the
correct bowl. You gotta love good barn cats, ours have food and regular
medical care.

We have not been seeing mice lately.... thinking the cats are actually
almost earning their keep.

We had a ton of rats in the barn... they were after the animal feeds.  
Finally broke down and got D-Con.  Found perhaps 50 dead rats laying about
the barn, meaning there were a lot more in the tunnels.  There are a few
corn kernels sitting on a ledge in the barn, untouched for perhaps
2 months now.  They are my gages for when to nuke the place once more.
