Amen! I find myself mentally toting up close calls and minor incidents,
trying to guess probabilities.
Like so many things, i figure that just when i have it figured out, i'll
croak.

Ambivalence infers constant reconsideration. The specifics influence the
decision. IE..I'm not very fearful of small diameter, low RPM and HP
buffers and fine, short bristle small diameter wire brushes.

Agreed. Though the plastic brushes are generally less dangerous than
wire brushes.
While i'm Jewish Mothering here...Buffing or brushing anything that has
links or hinges or chains( both) as well as facing anything with an
angle, "V" or crotch into the direction of rotation is asking for it.
