[TheForge] Old Punch Press ... is it worth it?

I think ours has 4" of travel, which is more than enough. you don't need the
momentum like with a trip hammer. If you can fit it between the dies, you
can work it. I bought a piece of H13 from Pat McCarty at the BAM conference
2 weeks ago, it was 2" x 3" and I was able to work it down into a 1" x 3/4"
bar under the press.

Thanks Bob, what a great idea! The one I picked up cheap has very short
throw and would otherwise only be useful for sheet metal, I think, unless
rebuilt as you describe.
"Fab!" :)
