[TheForge] Old Punch Press ... is it worth it?

A truly ancient OBI (open bed inclinable) punch press. Probably in the 5 to 15 ton range.
No motor, it was designed to run off overhead line shafts.
Got those in yr garage?
Assuming it turns easily, and goes up and down by turning the big wheel by hand, it should work, assuming you gin up a motor mount and motor.
And it looks like it has some die holders, at least.

But I would think its not worth the hassle, given the limited utility.
Unless you have a part you need to run for hours each day.
Its a production tool, that needs dedicated tooling, usually custom made machined tools that weigh several hundred pounds.

might look good with a flower pot on the bed.
