[TheForge] Silver question

Was at a dinner Fri nite honoring a close friends ordination as a
Catholic priest and I was seated next to another priest, this one from
Boston. He's on the staff of
Blessed St John XXIII Seminary in Boston. In talking, someone mentioned
that I was a blacksmith. He promptly asked about the possibilities of
taking a sterling silver chalice, melting it
down and making a cup from that particular metal.

I replied that the job was certainly doable but it would be probably
better to find a silversmith or someone with the equipment for melting
and drawing the silver into a plate for
forming into a cup. Most blacksmiths I know don't have such equipment.

His reason for this project: This is a family piece of silver and he
wants that particular metal made into a cup.

I told him I would ask a group of experts on the web about his question
and advise.

So. Any of you guys know of one of our group (or another group, etc),
preferably in the Boston or NE area that does this type of work? I'll
forward any replies.

Thanks
James, Paris TX
