[TheForge] winter storm and equipment

Thermodynamically speaking, the colder wind passes across a surface and
heat is transferred away from the hotter area to the colder. The degree
to which wind effects temperature depends mainly on the temperature
differential, the volume of wind flowing over the surface, and the
conductivity of the hotter material.

I am sure this can all be calculated to an arbitrary precision, but the
calculation may not be straightforward.

Just FYI, I remember my thermo classes in college with lingering pain.
It is not that easy a topic from several standpoints, the problem
solving is boring as hell to me, and while I understood the concepts
well enough I kind of sucked at the precise practical design. My
solution over the years has been to over-engineer for thermal capacity
and in the few cases where I have had to take it into consideration, the
practice has served me well enough. :)
