Remember you can still get rough duty light incandescent light bulbs which are perfect for what Dan )Auburn,WA) mentioned.

Not unless it's a piece you may need in a real hurry, even then. An electric
engine heater is generally all you'll ever need. Even a 50-50 mix of
anti-freeze won't freeze solid, it'll only get slushy unless it's stupid
cold, say in excess of -80f.

hello;
a simple question.
in this winter storm, of the likes we have not seen in decades, equipment
particularly tractors, generators, hyrdraulics, etc. should that equipment
be started and set to idle for the duration of the storm to ensure that none
of the oil becomes like tar and that none of the coolant systems freeze.
basically, 24x7 until the storm is over.
the equipment is all winterized but i have serious doubts about being good
to an actual -45 degrees F.

If you haven't done so already cover the equipment with a blanket and a
tarp that is tied down. If you have a block heater plug it in . If not a
100 watt light in a can attached to the oil pan or block will keep it from
freezing. Keeping the equipment covered will help the retention of heat.
Best of luck.

How much does wind chill affect the freezing of a water tank, pipes, etc? What is the formula for computing wind chill?

*2. Can wind chill impact my car's radiator or exposed water pipe? *back
<http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/windchill/windchillfaq.shtml#top>*A. *The only
effect wind chill has on inanimate objects, such as car radiators and water
pipes, is to shorten the amount of time for the object to cool. The
inanimate object will not cool below the actual air temperature. For
example, if the temperature outside is -5 degrees Fahrenheit and the wind
chill temperature is -31 degrees Fahrenheit, then your car's radiator will
not drop lower than -5 degrees Fahrenheit.

Wind chill only affects exposed moisture - like your on your skin. It has no affect otherwise.
