You WOULD have to point that out!  Now half the guys on this list will want
to go out and prove it for themselves!


Re:  lubrication.


Some motors have sealed bearings.  Some take grease.  A fairly large
percentage take oil -- look for oil holes above each bearing -- labeled
such or not.  Sometimes you'll find a fairly large open hole filled with
felt -- oil that.  Use 10-wt non-detergent oil.


This is available in small quantities at exorbitant prices at auto supply,
hardware, and heating/plumbing supply stores.


You can buy a half-lifetime supply here, instead:

(that's:Standard Machine Oil,  ISO Grade 46, SAE Grade 10, 1 Gallon)

They also sell it in 5-gallon containers if you want a 2.5-lifetime supply.
