I feel that we, as blacksmiths can help having newbees be allowed into the
reenactment community.  The organizers always need a blacksmith.  It is
expected that they have one of us there to make noise and make things.
Robert E. is correct that they usually don't mention that the forge may not
be correct and they will forgive our eyewear or shoes.

We need to stress to the organizers that the "Correct" nazis need to be
held at bay when it comes to how correct the newbee is when he comes in.
They may get angry at what you say, but they usually won't ban you due to
their needs.

They need to be encouraged to allow people to participate wearing lace
oxfords rather than Fugarwees and regular glasses rather than wire rimmed
tiny framed glasses.

And Vince, don't give up.  You are there for the kids, not their parents.
