My old Buddy Al Kinkle ( RIP) used to fire pottery kilns with deep fry oil...Cone 7....Hot!
He used gravity feed, needle valves and vacuum cleaner blowers with a sloping firebox.
Took a while to get the firebox up to working temperature and used contaminated diesel to start.
He had some truck oil filters in the line.
I've heard of it being done with an oil furnace burner as well.
