I have a really large vintage forced air burner for a foundry that I have had for years and have not set up yet.  It has a two inch gas line running into a three foot diameter centrifugal fan with an air valve.

As for injecting the propane at the blower, it's not particularly hazardous.
Even if it backfires it can't explode because it's contained, worst will be
a fireball coming out of the blower intake so you kill the gas, THEN the
blower.
