[TheForge] oil forge

It certainly can be done- many large older industrial shops had diesel or other oil fired forges. Usually they are huge, noisy, and kinda scary. Never seen a little one. I have seen em big enough to park a VW bug in, with room around the edges for a dozen barbecues. 
Grant knew all about em, but, unfortunately, Grant is no longer with us. 
But I seem to recall there were very good reasons why they werent very practical for small scale shop forges.
