[TheForge] Making needles?

The notch on the sewing pliers is roughly equivalent to that on a sewing
machine -- a standard shank fits it well, but it doesn't require a specific
shaped shank.

I checked out the Singer site and find the needles are only 90/14 or
100/16. The former of the two numbers is in centi-millimeters (to coin a
unit) so those are 0.9 and 1.0 mm, respectively. I can get equivalent
needles (different brand) at the fabric store, but passed them by because
of the relatively small diameter. The needle I'm using measures nearly 2
mm in dia.
