Allstate was in fact a Sears brand. It was used for tires first, then a car
built by Kaiser and sold by Sears, and later scooters built by Puch, as well as
Sears brand Auto Insurance. The insurance company is all that remains of the
brand as far as I know. Sears also used the brand on some automotive test
tools. Sears traditionally had several brands for their tools, with craftsman
being the top of the line. Other brands included Dunlap, and Companion.

If you are going to hang out with blacksmiths you will have to get used to old
farts with old tools and long memories.........

Charles
