Got my friendly neighborhood big-truck shop to swage threaded fitting
on to my sandblast hose. Sawed off the nipple on the tee under the
sand pot and welded on a suitable threaded connector.
The hose & fittings guy was dubious about it, afraid the swaged
fittings would fail under pressure and shred the hose ends because my
hose was fabric-reinforced, not steel mesh-reinforced like hydraulic
hose and the sharp annular ribs inside the fittings might cut too
deeply. So he didn't run the swage die up quite as tight as the spec
for hydraulic use. I dunno if he's right or not but it's nice to deal
with a guy who's *thinking* about his work.
Well, it's all reassembled, *looks* nice. We'll see what happens when
I put the air to it.
