Hey Lloyd:
Robotic arm sounds neat. Is the next one going to be with forged steel elements ?
You can forge titanium too.
Hand forged prosthetics has some promise.
The last bone carpenter i went to wouldn't let me make my own hardware though.

I'm with Pete and Bruce. "The Complete Modern Blacksmith" is one of my absolute favorite blcksmithing books. Mr Wygers traveled the 3rd world as a sculptor who's budget didn't include packing carving tools so he made them when he found something he wanted to carve. Be it an interesting subject or material, wood, stone, bone, ivory etc. He built smithies from whatever was available, made his chisels, hammes, shears, punches, gravers, whatever he needed. Like Pete says, he's an idol of mine a hero of the improvisor, MR. field expedient. Just his tools are works of art, high art.

I will be working my way through the book as son as the weather cooperates, 90 degree days are not fun, and that is without the forge heat

As soon as the weather cooperates I am going to work on getting it setup. The book I am using for starting is "A Blacksmithing Primer"
