Otherwise known as lapping compound, comes in several grits.

Came in handy for me just once, getting a too-tight nut to go nicely on
to a great fat bolt on my big air hammer.

I musta had that little can of lapping compound around for 30 years
and never used it before.  Never throw anything away.
