And all this time I'd just naturally assumed you'd cleaned the wounds
with a wire brush, cauterized them on a hot iron, wrapped them in duct
tape, and walked around for the next few months with you hand in your
pocket!

My image of you as the silent, macho type is forever shattered!

I've been luckier.  I once walked an angle grinder up my hand, but the
damage was slight -- a good education.
