A farm tractor dealer or repair shop may have something- I can't
remember: does it rivet into a steel band? Years ago you could buy the
linings and brass rivets

My hammer ate the lining, Little Giant (Sid's company) appears to be on
holiday, and I have a student coming in for a class this weekend.

Anyone know an alternative source for the lining (dense fiber belt 6" 
wide - no info on the piece I have left)?
