When I was in grade school, my dad was a scout master. One of his assistants 
wouked in a foundry. One year he cast duch ovens for the troop and all the 
scout masters. They were much heaver that the ones you could buy.  We used 
it for many years, it worked great.  When we were clearing the ground where 
we built our home, Mom would load it up and bury it in a burning brush pile 
so we would have a hot meal when the work was done.

I think that my brother got it when the folks moved into a condo.
