Goodness!
OK!! Never again, and Thank you too Jim!
I'd seen it used and assumed it was OK....Wrong.
Thank you both for setting me straight!...Well, straighter anyway.

Pete,
Dont do it. Teflon will burn under HP oxy in the right situation not as easy as other hydrocarbons but it will burn. I have read the accident report on a HP O2 pigtail with a teflon liner burning when a ball valve was put into a HP O2 manifold by some fool and operating the valve applied 3500 psi O2 in to the pigtail in an instant. I know your problem with the 1 and a half hour drive to the gas supplier but...

>> FWIW. I thought All that was interesting. & it applies to some of our shops. The ice rink disaster was caused by a refrigerant leak which displaced O2. I have a recurring problem w my inert gas regulators leaking small amts of gas where reg connects to tank. Not a danger for me as leaks r small & shop is large @ drafty. But in a close/tight space would/could be dangerous. We all think abt fuel gas & O2 leaks as dangerous (& they r) but other gasses displace O2. Just as hazardous 2 u r health.
