GOD NO! Never put ANYTHING which could POSSIBLY be a hydrocarbon or
other "fuel" source (such as grease, an O-ring, etc.) into an oxygen
system! (Can you say, "bomb"?)

You MIGHT get away with Teflon because it's perfluorinated, but I
wouldn't bet my life on it -- which you just might be doing.

I think if I were desperate, I'd try polishing the fitting -- detached
from the regulator -- in hopes of eliminating whatever flaw was
preventing achieving a good seal.

Back some years, I used Western as a source of CGA fittings. They
seem to still be in operation:

>> FWIW. I thought All that was interesting. & it applies to some of our shops. The ice rink disaster was caused by a refrigerant leak which displaced O2. I have a recurring problem w my inert gas regulators leaking small amts of gas where reg connects to tank. Not a danger for me as leaks r small & shop is large @ drafty. But in a close/tight space would/could be dangerous. We all think abt fuel gas & O2 leaks as dangerous (& they r) but other gasses displace O2. Just as hazardous 2 u r health.
