[TheForge] steampunk blacksmithing?

I think that steel and iron would be accepted as well, if finished nicely
(perhaps by heat oxidizing, since most anything you would make wouldn't
require a knife-like temper). Brass is definitely popular, but I think
that's mostly due to the attempt to "class it up" to match with the
Victorian idealism. However, well finished iron would be more true to the
Industrial Revolution portion of the culture, and I could see it filling
some niches in the genre.

Otherwise, yeah, I would agree that about any brassy finish would be well
received.
