Just to say that I did manage to get a little ironwork into my cellar
entry project. 

The nicely made bean-end hinges had had the bean ends broken off and
had fence staples over the narrow stub ends.  I forged up two beans, forge
welded them onto the hinges and tidied them up.  They look much
better. Now to make a nice latch to replace the cheap dime store sliding
bolt that we've been futzing with for 30 years.
