Sounds like.  When I was teaching in Manhattan my coworker nicked the 
end of his finger on the corner of the jointer.  It wasn't even that big 
a cut, but boy did it bleed.  Got the artery and the blood was squirting 
out like a tiny fountain.

Don't work tired, and for pity's sake make yourself some push sticks. 
They take about 5 minutes to make and may save you from great maiming 
injury.  There is not much that makes me feel worse than seeing someone 
injured in such ways.  Neighbor is a coal miner.  Young kid lost 2 
fingers about 3 or 4 months ago when a design flaw in an experimental 
piece of mining equipment became apparent in the worst way.  Cut off 
four fingers which were reattached, but 2 were beyond salvage.

Always be careful.
