[TheForge] Oh, Jeeze...California Considers Table Saw Law

Ouch.
In college I worked in various shops including architectural cabinet
making where they charged obscene sums even in those days. Other than
myself, everyone in the shop drank beer all day long, maybe 2 or 3 cans
in an 8-hour day. This worried me.
One day, one of the guys decided not to drink at work anymore. He ran
his right index finger perfectly up the middle of a 1/32" kerf veneer
blade on the table saw. The cut was so perfect all they did was tape
him up, load him with ABX, and sent him home. Took a few months of
physical therapy to get use of his finger back, but when he returned, he
went right back to drinking.
But yes, imbeciles in "government", in their attempts to chest-pound,
show who's in charge, and to justify the salaries they collect at the
ends of guns pointed at the taxpayers never let their ignorance and
ambition get in the way of protecting the idiots who buy potentially
dangerous objects and plug them in before learning how to use them.
Honestly, I am surprised those nitwits in the CA legislature have not
yet caught on to the idea of requiring a "special license" to purchase
and operate so-called "high performance" motor vehicles.
Oh shit, now I've gone and done it.
