[TheForge] question concerning metalworking timeline

hello;

would anyone know of any series of books that give the metalworking time
line that one may use to authenicate the time period of a piece of
metalwork?

certain metalworking techniques did not appear until xx year so anything
made having using that technique could not have been made before xx
year.

alloy xyzzy did not appear until year 70 in he year of lord zork so
nothing could be made with alloy xyzzy before that year.
