[TheForge] Gas miser ?

I have a gas saver. I altered mine by raising the pilot light about 4
inches and then putting a bungee cord between the stand the hanger/off
switch. I attached a foot pedal to the opposite side of the hanger rod and
put stand for the torch right behind the pilot light. The upshot is I now
have a hands free torch. I press in the pedal, and the torch lights via
the pilot and leaves my hands free to hold the work and the whatever tool I
am using. Great for putting small scrolls on the ends of brooches and
hairpins. I got the idea from watching Kristen Skiles at a Guild of
Metalsmiths conference in Hastings years ago. I seem to remember someone
showing me some plans for the alteration but for the life of me I can't
find them.
