[TheForge] Gas miser ?

Smith makes a couple models of "Gas Savers", per fuel type, and I have my
propane model rigged up so that a ~4-foot long counterweighted pedal of
sorts activates the hanger when I am using the torch in a vise (I clamp the
torch above the unit's pilot light), this lets me use both hands and also
spin away to work the hot metal quickly.
Just a reminder for anyone else adapting an oxy-acet system to propane, be
sure to upgrade your hoses so it doesn't bite you later (I do hear of folks
using the wrong hoses for years without problems, but methinks it is worth
a reminder).
Dave's got a much better torch than I do, but the setup is pretty slick...
I grimaced at the gas-saver's cost (cuz I'm cheap) but in hindsight it has
been more than worth it, not for the fuel but for the sole-operator
convenience. :)
