[TheForge] railing pattern

I"m planning a railing that goes down an outdoor staircase. The curve is
kind of irregular- not an arc of  a circle.
Does anyone have a good technique to take a pattern of that curve (about 13
feet in length) so that the hand rail can be roughly bent in the shop and
fine tuned on site? I'm betting there's a stupid simple way to do this and
I just don't get it!
