[TheForge] Trouble with trees

I had to save my friend's dog from a tree last week; he didn't know his
chocolate lab had followed us to the woods and I grabbed her before the
tree fell on her. We use a lot of local hardwood burl for knife handles.
Stabilized it looks like exotic wood; beautiful and cheap, but rather
labor intensive by the time it is cut and stabilized. It's better to
attach a rope and not cut with children or pets in the area.

Wow, we'll keep him in our prayers. Sorry to hear that this happened.
Big danger in doing that work as well as watching that is for sure.

Subject: [TheForge] Trouble with trees
A friend from church pulled a Frosty yesterday. He was watching the
city crews clear out some dead trees and when the tree dropped one of
the upper limbs broke off and hit him in the head. He is still in the
hostpital in a coma. I have not gotten an update today.
So even being a bystander can be dangerous.
