[TheForge] todays shooting in school.

i, personally, found mr. palmer's response a valid concern with whether 
american voters tend to overreact to current headlines and quickly forget 
other continuing tragedies that no longer have the attention of the press.

and, i was especially pleased to see mr. palmer raise the continuing failure 
of our "system" of providing medical care to properly fund the deeply 
troubling situations faced by families rearing children with mental health 
issues; i.e. ---

still, i understand how the mindnumbing factual situation in newtown has 
everyone's emotions bouncing around.  maybe in a few days it will be easier 
to compare the risks of school shootings with the many risks that all of our 
children face as they pass through childhood.

in the meantime, i hope our nation's leaders don't rush into enacting 
legislation that will misdirect our limited resources.
