Clearly a minority of the population is nuts everywhere.  I guess a key
difference with the China incidents is that generally knives are used and at
least the deaths are reduced.  Also, I expect that having to use a knife
makes it much more up-close and personal, although that did not seem to
hinder the guy that wounded the 22.  Remember too the guy that murdered a
huge number of kids on an island in Norway(?) a bit back.

It is not getting the press coverage, but they had a similar incident in
China ( one of several in the last year or so).  Twenty kindergartners
attacked with a 
knife.   Having spent a lot of in China, it is not for lack of laws, 
restrictions or enforcement.  There are other issues that need to be
addressed.
