hello;
seldom do i find a tool that i would review and recommend to others.
the Dewalt Inspection cameras are just plain simple to use and save many
hours taking equipment apart to perform a visual inspection.
the best feature of the Dewalt inspection cameras is that as they have
improved the camera cable you are able to purchase a "replacement"
camera cable instead of purchasing an entire unit.
the Dewalt inspection camera first came out with a 17mm camera and
cable. this worked for those times where you had the clearances to use
the 17mm cable and camera.
Dewalt then came out with the 9mm camera and cable. this allowed using
the camera in those tighter locations and still have a very good
picture.
Dewalt has now come out with the 5.8mm camera and cable. this allows for
use in even tighter locations. you are able to pull the fuel injector
from a diesel engine and inspect the piston and cylinder walls.
you can retrieve that stray nut/screw/bolt/etc from under the equipment
without having to either using the high pressure air hose or the vacuum
hose.
these cameras are real time savers. being able to trace out cables which
disappear into a bulkhead or overhead without punching large holes into
the bulkhead or overhead is a real plus.
the really nice feature is that the screen is removable from the trigger
to give you even better clearances.
The only downside is the max size of the SD microcard. 16gb. it would be
nice to be able to use a 32gb at times.
Dewalt DCT410S1 12V max 17mm Inspection Camera with Wireless Screen Kit
Dewalt DCT411S1 12V max 9mm Inspection Camera with Wireless Screen Kit
Dewalt DCT412S1 12V max 5.8mm Inspection Camera with Wireless Screen Kit
this cameras come in handy when the lift trucks decide to lose the fuel
siphon and filter in the fuel tank. instead of having to purchase new
parts whenever this happens the parts may be retrieved and reinstalled.
saving time and money, the two things most people do not like to spend.
