hello;

given the anniversary of the titanic sinking i have taken time to think
back to my own experience with the sea.

to be in the middle of either the pacific or atlantic ocean and to look
up at the night sky and see the sky ablaze with billions and billions of
stars. no light pollution from street lights, office buildings, highway
markers, etc. then to look out across the water and realize just how
alone and on your own you are. you say a prayer of thanks for the other
crew members who you depend on for your very life.

i enjoy the solitude of the sea and the time to slow down and smell the
salt air, listen to the sea birds calls, to watch the snow white cotton
clouds drift lazily by. to have coffee or tea and listen to fellow crew
members laugh and joke about the card game they are playing. i was born
in the wrong era.
