There's a big difference between bold and stupid. Bob Hoover is an old bold 
pilot he just knew the limits of his craft and liked the outside edge of the 
envelope. Just because one pilot can and will do things other's won't try 
doesn't make them reckless by a long shot.

Flying a bird you are not checked out in or hasn't had a proper inspection 
isn't bold, it's stupid. Heck, there are even old stupid pilots, just not as 
many.
