I've had a propane cutting tip for years but used it only seldom, 
however since the acetylene boom, I dug it out and also bought a new MFN 
rosebud for my Victor torch.  It works well, albeit a bit differently 
from acetylene.  I can't tell much - if any - difference.  I use a "gas 
saver" device and as such keep the torch handles adjusted for the 
flame.  The gas saver has a pilot light to light the torch.  This 
doesn't work well w/ propane for some reason so I usually use the 
striker to light the torch.  On the other hand, the pilot light isn't 
perfect with acetylene either.  I haven't changed my regulator, still 
using the same one.
